From Delivery Room to Dining Room: A Reunion Nearly 60 Years in the Making
At The Stayton at Museum Way by Buckner, stories aren’t just remembered—they’re relived. As a Life Care community in Fort Worth, we are honored to witness moments of purpose, reflection, and connection every single day. But some stories reach beyond even our highest expectations—stories that remind us how deeply lives can intertwine across generations.
One such moment recently unfolded when a beloved resident, Dr. Scarborough Foreman, a retired physician, reconnected with someone he welcomed into the world nearly 60 years ago.
A Full-Circle Moment at The Stayton
During his decades-long career in Tulia, Texas, Dr. Foreman delivered 2,968 babies. Each one, he says, was “a special gift from God.”
That legacy resurfaced during a heartfelt conversation with Chaplain Dr. Trent Lott, who provides spiritual support to residents. Dr. Foreman shared that he would love to reconnect with one of the babies he had delivered and learn about the life they built.
Inspired by this wish, Dr. Lott took action, and made it happen.
Soon after, Dr. Foreman sat down to lunch with Ken Ramsey, a man he had delivered almost six decades earlier. The two met for the first time in 59 years. Now on equal footing, they shared stories about life, vocation, and faith over a chef-prepared meal in The Stayton’s elegant dining room.
A Legacy of Care, Revisited
The conversation flowed with warmth and laughter. Dr. Foreman told Ken, “I considered each and every baby I delivered to be a special gift from God. That includes you too. You are a special gift from God.”
It was a deeply personal moment of reflection and legacy, a beautiful reminder that meaningful living in retirement includes honoring where you’ve been, as much as where you’re going.
