Coronavirus Update - 6.27.20
Update as of June 27, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. CST
We want to provide an update on the impact of COVID-19 in our community. We learned Friday, June 26, that two team members tested positive for the virus. There are a total of four active team member cases of the virus in our community, and these team members are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
By way of recap, we also have three active resident cases of COVID-19, and all residents are being cared for in the hospital.
We understand that you have concerns about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community. Please know we continue in our commitment to protecting the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community. All residents in the Plaza are receiving heightened infection control measures. Team members are wearing personal protective equipment, and both face shields and face masks approved for COVID-19. Our team is working with the appropriate authorities to comply with all requirements for additional Plaza resident and team member testing.
Texas is currently experiencing a surge in the number of new COVID-19 infections, and it is important that you protect yourself and other individuals in your community. As a reminder, Lifespace and The Stayton are continuing to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We encourage everyone to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments, practice social distancing, wear face masks or face coverings, and exercise proper hand hygiene. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact The Stayton management team.
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services offers additional information about COVID-19 in our state.
