The First Monday Canton Flea Market is about 90 minutes from Fort Worth. This regional fem has been running for more than 150 years. From a variety of food options to antiques and collectibles to décor and jewelry, you’re sure to find something interesting as you shop. Located just an hour from Fort Worth, the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails showcases 40 miles of driving trails lush with beautiful bluebonnet blooms during the spring. These trails, which are the oldest bluebonnet trails in Texas, are a popular day trip destination for thousands of people per year. Bluebonnet flowers typically peak around mid-April, however, the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails & Festival team updates its website weekly to let visitors know when the flowers are expected to peak.

Attend a Rangers Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington

Spring is synonymous with baseball! For fun a little closer to home, see an in-person Texas Rangers baseball game at Globe Field, which is just 20 minutes outside the city center. The sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository was the primary crime scene of the assassination of the 35th U.S. president, John F. Kennedy. Currently, this floor is home to the John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation exhibit, hence the name, “Sixth Floor Museum.” 

At the exhibit, you can find historic news footage, artifacts and images that chronicle and commemorate the legacy of JFK, along with original evidence of the late president’s assassination. Just a block away from the Dealey Plaza is the JFK Memorial Plaza, where you can stop to pay your respects.
